Teaching Machines to Breathe
The "rich expressive power" sought by Western music, such as emotional fluctuations through rubato and dynamics in tone.
For the music box, which was born as a precise automatic playing machine, this has always been a major dilemma, representing the limits of musical expression.
To break through these constraints, we have pursued the "ultimate arrangement" for the music box, precisely because digital technology now allows for ultra-precise work.
By distorting the time axis of a fleeting moment of less than a second to the extreme, we instill the presence of a live performance solely through the placement of the pins.
The "Akane edition" is the essence of high-end music box arrangement, pushing the potential of the music box mechanism to its absolute limit.
The Pinnacle of Arrangement and Musical Excellence
At Akane edition, our specialized composers and arrangers, who possess a deep understanding of music box mechanisms, meticulously calculate the resonance of every single tooth to create our musical scores.
Transcending the concept of automatic performance, we recreate an emotional musical experience as if a performer were right there with you.
This is craftsmanship that reaches the realm of art, achievable only through a combination of sophisticated classical composition techniques and profound knowledge of music boxes.
An "acoustic craft" born from the dialogue between artisans and musicians, from the selection of materials to the final tuning.
While we create beautiful tones from scratch and ensure the highest musical performance, subtle nuances emerge depending on the humidity and environment of the day.
This is the world of Akane edition—something only high-end music boxes can achieve, and something other musical formats cannot replicate.
Please enjoy the abyss of clear melodies that sink deep into your soul.
